4Site are currently hiring on behalf of our cllient, building maintenance engineers to service areas of Kensington and Abbots Mayor.

 

Maintenance Engineer
Locations: Kensington W8 & Abbots Mayor SW1W
Salary: £40,000–£43,000
Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs/week (Mon–Fri, occasional Saturdays at 1.5x)
Contract: Permanent

Role Overview

Responsible for maintaining the care home’s buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, compliant, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems.

  • Complete statutory checks (e.g., fire alarms, emergency lighting, water temps) and maintain accurate records.

  • Carry out small repairs, decorating, and basic carpentry as required.

  • Liaise with contractors for specialist works (e.g., boilers).

  • Conduct regular site inspections and address safety issues promptly.

  • Support compliance with CQC and Health & Safety regulations.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven maintenance experience, ideally in care, healthcare, or similar settings.

  • Strong fault-finding skills and working knowledge of building systems.

  • Basic understanding of HVAC, fire safety, and water hygiene.

  • Able to work independently and prioritise tasks.

  • Full UK driving licence preferred.

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or building maintenance.

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

  • Health & Safety training
