Design Manager – Commercial Fit-Out/D&B

4Site Recruitment are representing an established main contractor looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their team in London.

The business delivers prestigious commercial fit-out projects, including CAT A, CAT B and Design & Build schemes for high-profile clients. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-regarded contractor working on quality projects across East London.

The Role:

• Manage the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery.

• Coordinate architects, consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.

• Review drawings, specifications and design information to ensure project requirements are met.

• Manage design programmes and ensure key deadlines are achieved.

• Identify and resolve design issues, ensuring information is fully coordinated.

• Work closely with commercial and project teams to ensure designs align with budgets and programme.

• Attend design meetings and liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

About You:

• Previous experience as a Design Manager within a main contractor environment.

• Background in commercial fit-out, ideally CAT A, CAT B or Design & Build projects.

• Experience managing design through pre-construction and delivery.

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and design coordination.

• Confident managing relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
