We are looking for a Financial Controller, who will lead a small finance team for a high-end residential company in Battersea.

Job Overview:

As the Financial Controller, you will be a crucial member of the Finance Team, overseeing day-to-day operations and reporting directly to the Managing Director. Your role will involve managing a team, ensuring accurate ledger maintenance, collaborating with other departments, presenting financial information at Board meetings, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of two staff members
• Maintain and reconcile ledgers
• Collaborate with various departments, particularly commercial, to ensure accurate and smooth monthly reporting cycles
• Attend and contribute to Board meetings, presenting financial papers and providing insights into non-Finance matters
• Prepare month-end management accounts with meaningful narrative.
• Own and manage Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet reporting
• Contribute to the project pipeline and ensure accuracy in forward-looking reporting.
• Improve cost allocation accuracy and embed systems
• Oversee subcontractor CIS payments and payroll
• Ensure tax compliance (VAT, PAYE, P11D, and Construction Industry Scheme)

Essentials:

• Ideally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 2-3 years post-qualification experience
• Construction industry experience
• SME experience
• Working knowledge of Sage and Procore
• Knowledge of "lean processes" or process improvement and experience in delivering change

Hours: 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday
